The refurbishment of York Art Gallery has been completed with a grand opening on March 17th 2005. The project is seen as a quick win to stimulate futher extensive development work. Feedback is positive with visitor numbers dramatically up with over 10 000 in the first 10 days. Works on show for the opening exhibition include Monet and El Greco.
