BLA have been awarded 3rd prize in the ‘SOLUTIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES’ International Ideas Competition for a brownfield edge-of-centre site in Manchester. The aim was to ‘design a mixed-use scheme which demonstrates an energy revolution, celebrates the city, and promotes sustainable urban living’.
Bauman Lyons are featured in New Architecture in Britain by Kenneth Powell, published by Merrell in November 2003.
Working drawings are underway on £3.5 Million Neighbourhood Centre in West Bowling, Bradford for Bradford Trident. Start on site will be autumn this year.
Site Progress: Ravenscliffe Renewal Centre is at foundation level. Irwins are the main contractor and work will be completed in September 2004. For the groundwork anoraks out there this is a picture of concrete column bases.

Work in progress: the extension to Southlands Avenue in Leeds is nearing completion. Scaffolding came down at the beginning of March. The building will be watertight in the middle of March and completion will be in the second week of April.

Emmaus Leeds has reached completion this month and the first companions are moving in before Christmas.
