Bauman Lyons are pleased that the East Street Arts projects has earned a Special Mention at last week’s Leeds Achitecture Awards for 2005. It was said that: “Although this was determined as ineligible for an award, it is certainly worthy of a special mention. Here, a group of artists have combined courage and tenacity with limited resources to provide a home for their activities. The simply detailed outcome, although largely private, sends a signal to the community of its presence and restores an otherwise derelict building. In its modest way it is a statement of great confidence in the city.”
