In spring 2010 the Hebden Bridge Town Hall became one of the first community asset transfer schemes in the country and the Hebden Bridge Community Association embarked on a pioneering project to develop their Town Hall to enhance its role within the community.
We guided the Association through this process, engaging in a wide range of community focused information gathering, developing proposals to extend the Town Hall to create a new South facing urban courtyard facing onto the river.
Highlights
- Developed a scheme for a series a local business incubator units and a large multi functional hall which helped the project to become financially viable.
- These interventions allowed us to address the poor accessibility of the existing council chamber and open up the building to the town.
