The book by Bauman Lyons Architects is close to publication and is expected to be on the shelves at the end of March 2008.

“How to be a Happy Architect” explores the work of Leeds-based Bauman Lyons Architects in the context of ways of ‘being’ within the profession.”

 

Managed Workspace for Enterprising Neighbourhood Centres, Sheffield

Bauman Lyons has been appointed to the design team panel with four other architectural practices to deliver managed workspace programme of buildings for Sheffield City Council. The next stage involves mini design competitions to determine the appointment of individual architects to each project.

Earth Hour

On 29 March 2008 at 8pm, the Earth will be turning off its lights for an hour in the name of fighting global warming. So far, as well as Sydney, there’ll also be Chicago, Tel Aviv, Manila, Copenhagen, Melbourne, Brisbane and Toronto all turning off their lights for an hour in the name of fighting global warming.

Digital Media Centre, Barnsley

The Digital Media Centre has opened. It is one of the first Remaking Barnsley projects realised, where the eventual aim is to create the ideal 21st Century Market Town – a modern community that provides employment, culture, the arts, accommodation, leisure, retail and a place to relax, all focused in its town centre. The building has been featured in BD magazine.

Public Lecture

Irena Bauman & storey teller Pat Gilbey will be presenting the lecture “Thinking of Sustainable futures”  5.30pm Tuesday 6th November 2007; Richard Roberts Building, Brooke Hill.  

Hull Fruit Market Regeneration

We have been short listed with Igloo for one of the biggest regeneration projects in Hull of the famous Fruit Market Area. Our team also includes Surface Architects as the masterplanners, Sarah Wigglesworth Architects and Hodson Architects. The proposed masterplan intends to create a lively creative quarter for Hull.
